Evil Presents - CoS

Image
As we started this episode in the depths of the cathedral, our adventurers are resting in a vacant room.  During the rest, we decide to plan our next move in searching the halls, but Virgil is really ready to go take on Strahd and feels that this "search" for more treasure is a waste of time.  Dante, on the other hand, feels that it would be wiser to see what we can find in our searches.  Maybe we can find something that will help us defeat our cursed host.  Their discussion becomes a heated argument in which Dante calls out Virgil’s "eagerness" for battle and basically accuses him of leading the Crimson Order to their deaths.  This does not sit well with Virgil and he decides to hang back while the rest of us go check out the room next to ours where we hear voices.  Eravan decides to try and play the "lost circus performers" scheme as he knocks on the door and see if he can avoid a fight.  As the door is thrown open, the small group sees a band of rough

As we follow our heroes, they had an action-packed evening!    Upon their return to the Dragon Manor, divided into 2 groups, the first group (Eravan, Castiel and Banshee) decide to take the skull into the house in search of the ghostly dragon.   They call out for him but don't find him in the house.   They do find a very hung over Dorol who comes to help them and reminds them that the painting that they saw earlier showed a beacon of light shooting forth from the mausoleum behind the manor.   So, they take it back there and as they arrive, the doors to the mausoleum are made of solid stone and won't budge.   They try many different things to get it open but what finally does it is trying to blow it up.   Banshee uses Eldritch Blast, Dorol shoves and Eravan uses thunder to finally get it open.   As the last bit of the door crumbles to the ground they see the vast skeletal remains of the Silver Dragon without its skull.   They immediately put the skull in with the rest.   W

"Death is nearer than you think." What a night! As we contemplated our next step and how we wanted to approach the other 5 undead in the Dragon manor, Dante feeling dare devilish walks across the hallway and kicks open the door, sending it flying into the room. The room is elegantly decorated with a long table where 5 undead knights in tattered chainmail armor are seated. Only one lifts up his head and declares in a weary voice, "who disturbs the rest of the dead?" Thrown off his guard, Dante decides to speak with them. We all enter the room and Castiel sees the crystal chandelier hanging above them and says, "Ooooo, shiny." The speaking knight warns him not to touch. We find out that these knights only fight at the behest of Vladimir and since we took him out already that we don't have to worry about them. We decide to leave them in peace (Too bad Eravan doesn't know the Mend cantrip to fix their door). As we leave the manor, we come upon a casket

Smokey Cold Dragon! - CoS

Last night was action packed!   In the beginning we were leaving Barovia at dawn to head to Berez.   Castiel awoke to find himself not at Wizards winery but in Barovia and Ervin sitting by his bed.   The transformation was complete; he was now a raven lycanthrope.   Ervin reported that the winery was flourishing with new life thanks to him. As we left town, we traveled for about an hour, sharing the mounts that we got.   We traveled under another cloudy sky, wondering if it would rain at any moment.   We came upon a cope of trees as the windy path took us through it.   Knowing that danger could lurk behind any tree, Dante was vigilant and noticed that we were not alone just before we were attacked!   Eravan was the first to get bitten by a giant wolf.   A dire wolf almost the size of the horse that we were sitting on!   It was a strange fight because at first the wolves came at us one at a time instead of all at once but we fought valiantly and yet we took heavy hits.   When the batt

As Dorol, Eravan and Banshee arrive at the inn and start to unload the wagon with Dante (where have you been?) they all realise that Virgil is not with them. "Where did he sneak off to?" They finish their job and Dorol starts licking his lips in anticipation of a quick pint when he is interrupted by RIctavio, the town's bard, asking him for a moment of our time. Eravan tries to show off again and casts Levitate to soar high in the sky (Let's go fly a kite!) and see if he can spot Virgil. Meanwhile, Virgil arrives at the Barron's home wanting to have a moment with his dear friend Isaac and ask him about the fetish with the dolls. Before knocking he decides it is better to regroup instead of running solo. As Virgil turns to leave he notices something odd going on across the street. A small group of people wearing black robes entering a basement door of the Watch Lady's manor. This seems very suspicious and feeling that he shouldn't go in their alone,

The Battle of Bunker Hill - CoS

We started with Virgil basking in the warmth of his new toy up on the second story of the winery. We were about to turn and ask Dante where he though we should go next when he says mechanically, "I am not left handed!" and then Transformer style transforms into Banshee...fully charged and ready to burn through his fresh battery. As we continue to search the premises, we realize that the circular stone pillars acted as ramps to roll the wine barrels up or down the stairs and that they also extended to below ground to a cellar. after we cleared all rooms on the first and second floor, we descended down below, splitting up with Dorol, Virgil and Banshee going down one ramp and Castel and Eravan down another. In this cellar, we saw that it was divided into two sections and separated by a think wall with a passage. The side that Castel and Eravan descended into was full of empty shelves where wine bottles would have been but the other side where Banshee, Virgil and Dorol enter

We decided to go to the Barron's home to hear what he had to say. We were not impressed with his political posturing and accusing another noble (his neighbor across the street, noble woman Watcher) of trying to usurp his position in the city of Vallaki, which he only has because Lord Strahd placed his ancestor there many generations ago. We also didn't like it that he makes the people come, upon threat of being imprisoned and humiliated, to the bi-weekly festivals...oh yea, and they have to help pay for them. We do agree to help, begrudgingly, because 2 of his servants have gone missing and Issac, the Barron's bodyguard, purports to have seen the Lady Watcher summon a demon. We first decide to search the Barron's house first and talk with his son, Victor, who has a way with the servants. Maybe he knows something. In short, it was Victor who made the 2 servants disappear because he has been dabbing in magic from a spell book that he found in his dad's library (

We began the night with 3 groups of two on 3 levels of an old windmill. Roll of Initiative! Round 1 - Everyone gets into place. Virgil and Dorol make their way to the 2nd level and help Eravan and Dante beat up an old lady who had been baking pies. Castiel and Banshee66 are on the third floor attacking 2 girls and setting the room on fire. On the second floor they treat the old lady like a pinata until she vanishes, and even the Crimson older kept attacking the air. Upstairs things are heating up it turns out Castiel is a prince! (frog) And then it gets dark. Children start screaming. Eravan Turns on the light. Virgil sleeps, Dante siezes, Virgil siezes, Dorol is drunk. Someone kisses the frog. There is a Banshee frog? Who can stop the fire? The Hag dies, the girls flee, the children cling to the drunk. And the Sorcerer and Druid Burn the windmill down. This cause for a level up! lv5. Quick, let’s take these kids to child services. *psst. I heard someone went fishing, bu
