Smokey Cold Dragon! - CoS

Image
Last night was action packed!   In the beginning we were leaving Barovia at dawn to head to Berez.   Castiel awoke to find himself not at Wizards winery but in Barovia and Ervin sitting by his bed.   The transformation was complete; he was now a raven lycanthrope.   Ervin reported that the winery was flourishing with new life thanks to him. As we left town, we traveled for about an hour, sharing the mounts that we got.   We traveled under another cloudy sky, wondering if it would rain at any moment.   We came upon a cope of trees as the windy path took us through it.   Knowing that danger could lurk behind any tree, Dante was vigilant and noticed that we were not alone just before we were attacked!   Eravan was the first to get bitten by a giant wolf.   A dire wolf almost the size of the horse that we were sitting on!   It was a strange fight because at first the wolves came at us one at a time instead of all at once but we fought valiantly and yet we took heavy hits.   When the batt

As Dorol, Eravan and Banshee arrive at the inn and start to unload the wagon with Dante (where have you been?) they all realise that Virgil is not with them. "Where did he sneak off to?" They finish their job and Dorol starts licking his lips in anticipation of a quick pint when he is interrupted by RIctavio, the town's bard, asking him for a moment of our time. Eravan tries to show off again and casts Levitate to soar high in the sky (Let's go fly a kite!) and see if he can spot Virgil. Meanwhile, Virgil arrives at the Barron's home wanting to have a moment with his dear friend Isaac and ask him about the fetish with the dolls. Before knocking he decides it is better to regroup instead of running solo. As Virgil turns to leave he notices something odd going on across the street. A small group of people wearing black robes entering a basement door of the Watch Lady's manor. This seems very suspicious and feeling that he shouldn't go in their alone,

The Battle of Bunker Hill - CoS

We started with Virgil basking in the warmth of his new toy up on the second story of the winery. We were about to turn and ask Dante where he though we should go next when he says mechanically, "I am not left handed!" and then Transformer style transforms into Banshee...fully charged and ready to burn through his fresh battery. As we continue to search the premises, we realize that the circular stone pillars acted as ramps to roll the wine barrels up or down the stairs and that they also extended to below ground to a cellar. after we cleared all rooms on the first and second floor, we descended down below, splitting up with Dorol, Virgil and Banshee going down one ramp and Castel and Eravan down another. In this cellar, we saw that it was divided into two sections and separated by a think wall with a passage. The side that Castel and Eravan descended into was full of empty shelves where wine bottles would have been but the other side where Banshee, Virgil and Dorol enter

We decided to go to the Barron's home to hear what he had to say. We were not impressed with his political posturing and accusing another noble (his neighbor across the street, noble woman Watcher) of trying to usurp his position in the city of Vallaki, which he only has because Lord Strahd placed his ancestor there many generations ago. We also didn't like it that he makes the people come, upon threat of being imprisoned and humiliated, to the bi-weekly festivals...oh yea, and they have to help pay for them. We do agree to help, begrudgingly, because 2 of his servants have gone missing and Issac, the Barron's bodyguard, purports to have seen the Lady Watcher summon a demon. We first decide to search the Barron's house first and talk with his son, Victor, who has a way with the servants. Maybe he knows something. In short, it was Victor who made the 2 servants disappear because he has been dabbing in magic from a spell book that he found in his dad's library (
