The End

As we return for the final chapter, our intrepid adventurers are still in the crypt with the reincarnation of the evilest creature that Barovia has ever seen.  The demon from the netherworld hovers above the sarcophagus of Lord Strahd, who reposses inside with a purple magical shield protecting him from all.

This unearthly fiend blasts us all back against the wall or, in Castiel's case, through the doorway and back into the crypt.  We begin the battle and notice that we are striking and blasting it with our many abilities, but it occurs to us that we aren't really doing that much damage.  Then, out of nowhere, a pillar of light penetrates through the building and strikes our enemy.  We notice that he crumples under its radiance and that gives us hope.  We surge forward and continue to press on.  Yet, again, we feel that no matter what we do, we are not able to strike this beast down.  Then, as if on cue, another pillar of light shoots through the walls again and again, he crumbles.  As we see him crouch, we also feel an overwhelming feeling of rejuvenation and also that we all of a sudden, are more powerful!  It is like the fog clears and we can see clearer than we have never seen before (and we level up!).

With this newfound power and strength, we lay into our foe once again and notice that he is weakening.  With Virgil becoming a spinning top, Banshee striking with curses and hexes, Castiel bludgeoning with his staff, Eravan casting ice spells (That Dante didn't like because I boxed him out...not intentionally - Sorry Dante) and lightning bolts, Dante striking with multiple blows with his Sunblade (when I put the wall down), and Dorol waiting to strike with the stake...but until then, he was wondering where his hip flask is?

Oh yea, he wasn't really looking for his hip flask (though his hand periodically drifted down to make sure that it was still there).  But, as Virgil and Dante were the final two to deliver the deathblows, the creature from our stepsister plane of existence, was returned against its will.  We all sighed a sigh of relief...except Dorol.  He ran over to the coffin, that was not unprotected, and stabbed not once, not twice, but more than we all want to count, his stake into Lord Strahd's body.  He first was surprised and tried to stay alive but then with a peaceful exhalation.  At that moment, Eravan ran to check on Ireena and bring her to the others.  As she arrives, a ghost appears.  He calls to Ireena....calling her his love?!  What?!  Recognition dawns across her face and she sees her ancient love.  Lord Strahd had stolen his brothers love and had her relive a life with him time and time again.  She slowly forgot her true love.  Yet, now with him before her, she greets her love and they fly off to the afterword together, never to be apart again.

With the wall of mist gone and this ancient town free our heroes say their goodbyes and go their separate ways.  Eravan buys himself an instant fortress and a vardo to travel the land and learn what he can about being a 'normal' teenager.  Virgil and Dante plan to stay and guard the Amber Temple.  Banshee goes off on his own and is never heard of again.  Dorol will go home and try to rid himself of his demons.  Castiel went back to his home only to find it destroyed, his family dead, and his girlfriend captured by the hooded lanterns.
